I am Edie. I am an artist, a creative and a lover of connection, stories and learning. At a young age realized i was surrounded by powerful and fierce women. women who didn't need to be protected or looked after. Women who feared nothing and followed their passions and managed to make lives for themselves in the most creative ways. I always found the concept of 'sisterhood' to be very grounding and supportive so what more could i wish to achieve than to create a group of beautiful women to surround myself with now as an adult.
Having recently completed my training as a doula, this bond became stronger, as did the utter awe I have for my fellow women. with 'solstice circles' I hope my friends and I can bring back the ancient art of ritual. I hope we manage to create a collective of women who raise each other up in a society where we've been taught to push each other down.
"what's the greatest lesson a woman should learn? that since day one. she's already had everything she needs within herself. It's the world that convinced her she did not" - Rupi Kaur
I'm Hayley, a local yoga teacher. Having grown up i the Byron region I have been practicing yoga and pranayama for several years.
I hope to facilitate a space in which we can explore the duality between softness and strength, stillness and movement, finding both sthira and sukha through navigating the journey of the breath.
In this circle, we will explore the power of prana (breath) and it's effects on the body and mind, both together and separately, setting the foundation for a self-aligned journey through our summer solstice gathering.
ELIZABETH (yin yoga)
I'm Elizabeth, a twenty something year old creative and yoga teacher from the South of England. I have spent the past year traveling to explore and discover the diversity of the world settling in the Northern Rivers to make a new home.
I believe yoga is a self inquiry of who we are, what were feeling and how we can make changes to our inner and outer self to become more in tune with how we feel and how our actions affect ourselves, each other and the environment around us.
I will guide you through an exploration of physical embodiment paired with mindful observation of breath creating a holistic connection to yourself and the natural world.
